I still have to study Numbers out but what motivated me to post this up is that the 4th chapter begins with a similar phrasing as the 4th book chapter 1. You'll find a similar pattern with the 9th book 1Samuel chapter 1 and the 9th chapter of it. Also Acts 22 summarizes the book of Acts being on the 22nd spoke as Paul speaks on his behalf before the Jews.
Numbers 1
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first [day] of the second month, in the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying, 2 Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of [their] names, every male by their polls; 3 From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies. 4 And with you there shall be a man of every tribe; every one head of the house of his fathers. |
Numbers 4
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, 2 Take the sum of the sons of Kohath from among the sons of Levi, after their families, by the house of their fathers, 3 From thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter into the host, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation. |
