Spoke 10: Comparing Jonah with 2Samuel
Jonah's prayer within the fish's belly in Jonah 2 has similarities with the Psalm David wrote, which is included in 2Samuel 22 such as both Jonah and David crying and God hearing their voice from his temple. David mentioned the sorrows of hell compassed him about, whereas Jonah says the floods/waters compassed him about.
Jonah 3's preaching to Nineveh caused a great repentance and even the king fasted saying,
Jonah 3:9 Who can tell [if] God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
And so did David:
2Samuel 12:22 And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell [whether] GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?
