The 1st and 3rd chapters of Jonah have some similarities when compared verse-by-verse whereas Jonah 2 and 4 are similar.

The book of Jonah being the 10th prophetic book from Isaiah, also the 10th book of the 2nd cycle of the Biblewheel, is related to Noah the 10th from Adam and what happened in his days, which is covered from Genesis 5-11.

First of all the number 40 appears in verse 4 related to the 4th book Numbers and Matthew and Luke 4 . Also the letter Mayim has a Gematria/Numerical value of 40. The letter also means from the sea . Also the word for day is Yom which is a Vav inserted in between the letters Yam (sea).
5 Then the mariners were afraid, and cried every man unto his god, and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it of them. But Jonah was gone down into the sides of the ship; and he lay, and was fast asleep. Noah being the 10th from Adam, his generation can be related to the city of Nineveh in the time of Jonah the 10th prophetic book: Genesis 6 5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually. 6 And it repented (h5162 נָחַם nacham) the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. Jonah means dove. Noah released a dove: Genesis 8 8 Also he sent forth a dove (h3123 יוֹנָה yownah) from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground; 9 But the dove (h3123 יוֹנָה yownah) found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters [were] on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark. 10 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove (h3123 יוֹנָה yownah) out of the ark; 11 And the dove (h3123 יוֹנָה yownah) came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth [was] an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth. 12 And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove (h3123 יוֹנָה yownah); which returned not again unto him any more.
11 Then said they unto him, What shall we do unto thee, that the sea may be calm unto us? for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous. Masoretic Text: 1:11 וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֵלָיו מַה־נַּעֲשֶׂה לָּךְ וְיִשְׁתֹּק הַיָּם מֵֽעָלֵינוּ כִּי הַיָּם הֹולֵךְ וְסֹעֵֽר׃
12 And he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you: for I know that for my sake this great tempest is upon you. And he said, I do well to be angry, even unto death. Masoretic Text: 4:9 וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים אֶל־יֹונָה הַהֵיטֵב חָרָֽה־לְךָ עַל־הַקִּֽיקָיֹון וַיֹּאמֶר הֵיטֵב חָֽרָה־לִי עַד־מָֽוֶת׃
9 But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD. Masoretic Text: 2:10 וַאֲנִי בְּקֹול תֹּודָה אֶזְבְּחָה־לָּךְ אֲשֶׁר נָדַרְתִּי אֲשַׁלֵּמָה יְשׁוּעָתָה לַיהוָֽה׃ ס	10 Then said the LORD, Thou hast had pity on the gourd, for the which thou hast not laboured, neither madest it grow; which came up in a night, and perished in a night: Masoretic Text: 4:10 וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אַתָּה חַסְתָּ עַל־הַקִּיקָיֹון אֲשֶׁר לֹא־עָמַלְתָּ בֹּו וְלֹא גִדַּלְתֹּו שֶׁבִּן־לַיְלָה הָיָה וּבִן־לַיְלָה אָבָֽד׃
10 And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land. Masoretic Text: 2:11 וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה לַדָּג וַיָּקֵא אֶת־יֹונָה אֶל־הַיַּבָּשָֽׁה׃ פ	11 And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more then sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle? Masoretic Text: 4:11 וַֽאֲנִי לֹא אָחוּס עַל־נִינְוֵה הָעִיר הַגְּדֹולָה אֲשֶׁר יֶשׁ־בָּהּ הַרְבֵּה מִֽשְׁתֵּים־עֶשְׂרֵה רִבֹּו אָדָם אֲשֶׁר לֹֽא־יָדַע בֵּין־יְמִינֹו לִשְׂמֹאלֹו וּבְהֵמָה רַבָּֽה׃
