Comparing 1Kings 8 and Amos shows Solomon's prayer that if the people of Israel sin and God smites them by captivity, plagues, drought, famine and other ways and repent God d would return them them and bless them and forgive them. But in Amos God says he struck them with these things but Israel didn't repent.
