Spoke 10: Comparing 1Timothy with 2Samuel
1Timothy 5 mentions someone's sins are apparent before hand whereas other appear later on. But David's sin was done in secret but God returned to his head by his son doing even worse against his father.
The 10th commandment is not to lust/covet after the neighbor's wife nor belongings. Both 2Samuel and 1Timothy are on the 10th Spoke which are focused on this subject. David lusted after his neighbour's wife, which led him to break other commandments as adultery, lie, steal and murder. 1Timothy 6 mentions those who labour to be rich make a grievous mistake. Joab told one witness, when Absalom the king's son was hanging on a tree, that he would give 10 shekels of silver if he would kill him. But he refused and said that he wouldn't do it if he gave him 1000 shekels of silver because the king wanted him alive.
