Comparing These:

I'm going to try to compare the books of the 16th Spoke of the Biblewheel Nehemiah/Zechariah/1Peter. To be able to compare, I'm trying to fit everything in one page.

The post exile books are on the 15th - 17th Spokes:

15th Spoke Ezra/Haggai/James;

16th Spoke Nehemiah/Zechariah/1Peter;

17th Spoke Esther/Malachi/2Peter.

Ezra, Nehemiah returned to the land of Israel after the Babylonian captivity. With them were the 2 prophets Haggai and Zechariah. Malachi was the last Old Testament prophet and Esther was the last Old Testament historical book in the Biblewheel.

The 3 Epistles James, 1Peter and 2Peter are post exile epistles written after 70AD. James and Peter stayed in Jerusalem until 70AD. I'm not sure if they themselves left Jerusalem but their epistles are written to the Jewish believers who were scattered.

So without a doubt their themes are going to be related to each other.

Both Nehemiah and Zechariah, being on the 16th Spoke have to do with rebuilding the Temple. 1Peter on the other hand, on the same Spoke talks about the building the spiritual temple by bringing the scattered believers together. Peter is the new name of Simon given by Jesus which meant a stone because he confessed Jesus was the Son of God. And in Zechariah 3 a 7 eyed stone was set before Joshua the High Priest. So there seems to be a connection.

And from above the gate of Ephraim, and above the old gate, and above the fish gate, and the tower of Hananeel, and the tower of Meah, even unto the sheep gate: and they stood still in the prison gate.

Jeremiah 31:38 (KJV)

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Hananeel unto the gate of the corner.

Zechariah 14:10 (KJV)

All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and [from] the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses.

Nehemiah 7:2 (KJV) 2 That I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace, charge over Jerusalem: for he [was] a faithful man, and feared God above many.

Zechariah 4:7 (KJV) 7 Who [art] thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel [thou shalt become] a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone [thereof with] shoutings, [crying], Grace, grace unto it.

Zechariah is the 16th prophetic book counting from Isaiah. In the BibleWheel both Zechariah and 1Peter align on the 16th Spoke with Nehemiah.

1Peter reveals what Zechariah conceals. Zechariah was given sheep to take care of symbolizing Jesus' ministry on earth.

As a side note he was valued 30 pieces of silver which was idiom, a tradition and an insult because 30 pieces of silver were the price of a dead servant:

Exodus 21

32 If the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.

Since 1Peter is the shortest of the books Nehemiah/Zechariah/1Peter according to the number of chapters let me show you how Nehemiah and Zechariah are related to 1Peter.

The name of Zechariah means the LORD remembers. And Nehemiah means the LORD shall comfort. Both Zechariah and Nehemiah fall in the 16th Spoke and their names are used in the context of that spoke. Nehemiah is the 16th book of the Bible therefore I will write Bible 161. And Zechariah is the 38th book but the 16th book of the 2nd Cycle as seen in the diagram above therefore I will write Bible 162.

31 And for the wood offering, at times appointed, and for the firstfruits. Remember (זָכַר zakar) me, O my God, for good.

2 The LORD hath been sore displeased with your fathers.

4 Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the LORD.
5 Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever?
6 But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the LORD of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.

8 I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him were there red horses, speckled, and white.
9 Then said I, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will shew thee what these be.
10 And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the LORD hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth.
11 And they answered the angel of the LORD that stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth still, and is at rest.
12 Then the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years?
13 And the LORD answered the angel that talked with me with good words and comfortable (נִחֻם nichuwm) words.
14 So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.
15 And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction.
16 Therefore thus saith the LORD; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the LORD of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem.
17 Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort (נָחַם nacham) Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.
18 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns.
19 And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
20 And the LORD shewed me four carpenters.
21 Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.

Take note that the 16th letter of the Hebrew Alphabet is Ayin which means eye. The eye is often mentioned in especially Zechariah. But one of the many names in Nehemiah is Col-hozeh which means all-seeing. Col-hozeh (כָּל–חֹזֶה) also adds to 70 which is the numerical value of the 16th letter Ayin.

Zechariah 4 - Listen - Go
1 And the angel that talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep,
2 And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:
3 And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.
4 So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?
5 Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
8 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
9 The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.
10 For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.
11 Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?
12 And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?
13 And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
14 Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.

Under Nehemiah Israel returned from captivity and rebuilt the temple and the walls of Jerusalem.

Nehemiah 1

9 But if ye turn unto me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there.
10 Now these are thy servants and thy people, whom thou hast redeemed by thy great power, and by thy strong hand.
11 O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king's cupbearer.

Zechariah is the 38th book overall but in the Biblewheel it lines up with Nehemiah and 1Peter on the 16th Spoke. It is the 16th prophetic book from Isaiah. This makes it important why Jesus should have died in Jerusalem. He represents the foundation and cornerstone of the spiritual temple. He is known in the prophecies as the BRANCH.

Zechariah 3

2 And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

Zechariah 6
12 And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD:
13 Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

In 1Peter, which is also on Spoke 16 in the Biblewheel, it is written about the spiritual temple:

4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

The next book on Spoke 16, following Nehemiah is Zechariah which means God remembers.
Zechariah like Nehemiah encourages the building of the temple and also relates to the spiritual temple that the Messiah known as the Stone with 7 eyes will build later explained in the 3rd Cycle of Spoke 16's 1Peter.

17 Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort (נָחַם nacham) Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.
18 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns.
19 And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
20 And the LORD shewed me four carpenters.
21 Then said I, What come these to do? And he spake, saying, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it.
