This posting is sidetracking from the study of the Biblewheel but I feel like I need to share this with you. A lot of believers fall into this type of manipulation unexpectedly.
Have you walked in a church and seen people speak into tongues in front of you to the intention of making you do the same? You've been manipulated and intimidated to go along with them.
Have you walked in a church and a congregation shouted amen!, preach it pastor!, come on!, Hallelujah!. There are times when you felt like saying which I don't find anything wrong but sometimes things have become a tradition and exaggerated and misrepresents God on behalf of his servant. And it's used as manipulation to make you go along with them.
And how about the preacher? Have you felt that at times the message isn't quite convincing but his way of talking is so motivating that he uses his voice by raising his tone and make the audience feel guilty or persuaded. He would use charisma to make you agree with him. Or he would look at you directly with a microphone and a raised up voice pronounces judgment on you even though he doesn't know you very well (or even if he does).
So called believers or new believers use the term In the name of Jesus! while they impose their own will on you.
Sadly even church members don't read scriptures as much as they should and rely on pastors and church members to guide them and they fall in a trap.
It comes down to this:
Psalms 118:8 (KJV)
[It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
Psalms 118:9 (KJV)
[It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.
Judas Iscariot:
A lot can be said concerning manipulators. They're called wolves (and sometimes in sheep's clothing), serpents, snakes, vipers. A lot has been written in the bible. It's better not to eat with them but they often go unsuspected. However Jesus knew that Judas Iscariot, who ate with him will betray him.

John 12 - Listen
1 Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead. 2 There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him. 3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment. 4 Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's [son], which should betray him, 5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? 6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein. 7 Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this. 8 For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always. |
Do you confess your sins to God or to men?
After denying the Lord Peter wept and was forgiven. Judas Iscariot however put his trust on the priests and leaders thinking they are simply going to correct Jesus and will going help him psychologically/emotionally as he brought the money back and after refusing threw it in the temple treasury. But then he didn't seek God for forgiveness but hung himself.
Also here are some names of manipulators in the bible. David a man of God manipulated Uriah and killed him and took his wife. He repented but paid a big price.
Solomon pursued Jeroboam because Jeroboam protested against his dictatorship. Even though Solomon, who turned his back on God had riches, wisdom, horses and chariots and a 1000 wives, it took guts for Jeroboam, who's mother was a widow to stand up against him. And despite all that Solomon couldn't touch him as he fled to Egypt until Solomon's death.
Other manipulators in the bible:
Cain slew his brother Abel and denied being his brother's keeper;
Saul tried to kill David many times but ended up suiciding in a humiliating defeat in a battle;
Ahitophel who was king David's counselor, who's counseling was said to be God's counseling turned against David after David committed adultery with his grand-daughter Bathsheba and took Absalom, David's son's side who became king and tried to kill David. This one prayer saved David and restored him to his kingdom:
2Samuel 15:31 And [one] told David, saying, Ahithophel [is] among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O LORD, I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.

1Kings 13 - Listen
1 And, behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of the LORD unto Bethel: and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense. 2 And he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men's bones shall be burnt upon thee. 3 And he gave a sign the same day, saying, This [is] the sign which the LORD hath spoken; Behold, the altar shall be rent, and the ashes that [are] upon it shall be poured out. 4 And it came to pass, when king Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, which had cried against the altar in Bethel, that he put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not pull it in again to him. 5 The altar also was rent, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of the LORD. 6 And the king answered and said unto the man of God, Intreat now the face of the LORD thy God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored me again. And the man of God besought the LORD, and the king's hand was restored him again, and became as [it was] before. 7 And the king said unto the man of God, Come home with me, and refresh thyself, and I will give thee a reward. 8 And the man of God said unto the king, If thou wilt give me half thine house, I will not go in with thee, neither will I eat bread nor drink water in this place: 9 For so was it charged me by the word of the LORD, saying, Eat no bread, nor drink water, nor turn again by the same way that thou camest. 10 So he went another way, and returned not by the way that he came to Bethel. 11 Now there dwelt an old prophet in Bethel; and his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel: the words which he had spoken unto the king, them they told also to their father. 12 And their father said unto them, What way went he? For his sons had seen what way the man of God went, which came from Judah. 13 And he said unto his sons, Saddle me the ass. So they saddled him the ass: and he rode thereon, 14 And went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak: and he said unto him, [Art] thou the man of God that camest from Judah? And he said, I [am]. 15 Then he said unto him, Come home with me, and eat bread. 16 And he said, I may not return with thee, nor go in with thee: neither will I eat bread nor drink water with thee in this place: 17 For it was said to me by the word of the LORD, Thou shalt eat no bread nor drink water there, nor turn again to go by the way that thou camest. 18 He said unto him, I [am] a prophet also as thou [art]; and an angel spake unto me by the word of the LORD, saying, Bring him back with thee into thine house, that he may eat bread and drink water. [But] he lied unto him. 19 So he went back with him, and did eat bread in his house, and drank water. 20 And it came to pass, as they sat at the table, that the word of the LORD came unto the prophet that brought him back: 21 And he cried unto the man of God that came from Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast disobeyed the mouth of the LORD, and hast not kept the commandment which the LORD thy God commanded thee, 22 But camest back, and hast eaten bread and drunk water in the place, of the which [the LORD] did say to thee, Eat no bread, and drink no water; thy carcase shall not come unto the sepulchre of thy fathers. 23 And it came to pass, after he had eaten bread, and after he had drunk, that he saddled for him the ass, [to wit], for the prophet whom he had brought back. 24 And when he was gone, a lion met him by the way, and slew him: and his carcase was cast in the way, and the ass stood by it, the lion also stood by the carcase. 25 And, behold, men passed by, and saw the carcase cast in the way, and the lion standing by the carcase: and they came and told [it] in the city where the old prophet dwelt. 26 And when the prophet that brought him back from the way heard [thereof], he said, It [is] the man of God, who was disobedient unto the word of the LORD: therefore the LORD hath delivered him unto the lion, which hath torn him, and slain him, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake unto him. 27 And he spake to his sons, saying, Saddle me the ass. And they saddled [him]. 28 And he went and found his carcase cast in the way, and the ass and the lion standing by the carcase: the lion had not eaten the carcase, nor torn the ass. 29 And the prophet took up the carcase of the man of God, and laid it upon the ass, and brought it back: and the old prophet came to the city, to mourn and to bury him. 30 And he laid his carcase in his own grave; and they mourned over him, [saying], Alas, my brother! 31 And it came to pass, after he had buried him, that he spake to his sons, saying, When I am dead, then bury me in the sepulchre wherein the man of God [is] buried; lay my bones beside his bones: 32 For the saying which he cried by the word of the LORD against the altar in Bethel, and against all the houses of the high places which [are] in the cities of Samaria, shall surely come to pass. 33 After this thing Jeroboam returned not from his evil way, but made again of the lowest of the people priests of the high places: whosoever would, he consecrated him, and he became [one] of the priests of the high places. 34 And this thing became sin unto the house of Jeroboam, even to cut [it] off, and to destroy [it] from off the face of the earth. |
So my heart goes out to you. I don't want to be a manipulator nor manipulated.
1Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
1Corinthians 7:23 Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.
We Need to Wear the Armour of God for Our Protection |

Ephesians 6 - Listen
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; 19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. |
God Bless You.
