We previously looked at the 10 commandments in the 10 first chapters of Romans. But when it comes to the 2nd chapter abhorrest idols/sacriledge is mentioned which is similar to the 2nd commandment. But the chapter gives more of a resume of the 2nd book Exodus entirely.

Notice the Law (??µ?? nomos) is first mentioned in Romans 2 as it (??????? towrah) was in the 2nd Book Exodus:

Exodus 12
49 One law (??????? towrah) shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.

Romans 2
12 For as many as have sinned without law (??µ?? nomos) shall also perish without law (??µ?? nomos): and as many as have sinned in the law (??µ?? nomos) shall be judged by the law (??µ?? nomos);

Romans 2 and the 2nd Book Exodus
Romans 2
4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
Exodus 34
6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,
7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear [the guilty]; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth [generation].
21 Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?
22 Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?
Exodus 20
14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
15 Thou shalt not steal.
Romans 2
20 An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law.
Exodus 24
12 And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.
